May the Entheogenic Reformation prevail over the Pharmacratic Inquisition

Posted by bodom-child - October 23rd, 2008

May the Entheogenic Reformation prevail over the Pharmacratic Inquisition, leading to the spiritual rebirth of humankind at Our Lady Gæa's breasts, from which may ever copiously flow the amrita, the ambrosia, the ayahuasca of eternal life!

Pharmacratic Inquisition nov. verb. The Christian persecution of archaic religions based on sacramental ingestion of entheogenic plants and the consequent personal access to ecstatic states; whose first great victory was the destruction of the Eleusinian Mysteries at the end of the fourth century; which then reached a gruesome climax in the persecution of witches in the Middle Ages; and which continues in today's Pharmacratic State in the guise of a public health 'War on Drugs.'

Although the amazing geometrical hallucinations experienced under the influence of DMT are sufficient in themselves to command attention among students of psychedelics, the really interesting part of the experience is the apparent contact with alien beings.

For thousands of years on our planet, humanity has been involved in a symbiotic relationship with plants. Not only have plants supplied mankind with a never-ending food source, the necessary nourishment for our bodies, and life itself, but they have also served us in another way: an extremely important and intricate one, yet an often overlooked one.

"Entheogen", means simply; "the generation of God within"; for the experiencer, "the realization of God within ones own consciousness".

The facts are that there are many plants that have been known to expand consciousness, increase awareness of self, and initiate one into the nature of spirituality.

This is discovery of the most magnificent degree. We have uncovered the natural link between man, consciousness, and God. This discovery may at first seem abstract, wishful thinking, or even impossible; you may find that its understanding does not require as much of a leap of faith as you might think.

The sacramental use of Entheogens has only come into a bad/dirty light recently. This is largely due to the lumping together of any and all substances used by people (whether used for spiritual or recreation purposes) and then classifying them as "bad" (for you), "evil", "vile", and/or "dirty". This prohibition is the propaganda of the inept, corrupt, and oppressive (monetary based) war on drugs.

-James Arthur, Mushrooms and Mankind

The Entheogen Theory of Religion:
The entheogen theory of religion holds that the main origin and ongoing wellspring of religion is visionary plants, such as Psilocybe mushrooms, Peyote, Ayahuasca combinations, Salvia divinorum, Cannabis, Opium, Henbane, Datura, Mandrake, Belladonna, ergot, and Amanita mushrooms.

The Entheogen Theory of Religion and Ego Death
by Michael Hoffman

"The psychedelic experience - it has a tremendous force to revivify the spirit, particularly because it is not an ideology. It is not something someone 'figured out.' It is an EXPERIENCE. And this is important to bear in mind."

"Anyone can sweep up around the ashram for a dozen years while congratulating themselves that they are following a path to enlightenment. It takes courage to take psychedelics - real courage. Your stomach clenches, your palms grow damp, because you realise that this is real - this is going to work. Not in 12 years, not in 20 years, but in an hour!"

"We wouldn't be here if it weren't for psychedelic drugs. In terms of the role of psilocybin in human evolution on the grasslands of Africa, people not on drugs were behind the curve. The fact is that, in terms of human evolution, people not on psychedelics are not fully human. They've fallen to a lower state, where they're easily programmed, boundary defined, obsessed by sexual possessiveness which is transferred into fetishism and object obsession. We don't want too many citizens asking where the power and the money really goes. Informed by psychedelics, people might stop saluting. "Take your political party, your job, whatever, and shove it.""

Psilocybin's main synergistic effect seems ultimately to be in the domain of language. It excites vocalization; it empowers articulation; it transmutes language into something that is visibly beheld. It could have had an impact on the sudden emergence of consciousness and language use in early humans. We literally may have eaten our way to higher consciousness.

To seek to understand human beings is to seek to understand their uniqueness. The radical division between human beings and the rest of nature is so striking that for prescientific thinkers it was sufficient proof that we were the divinely favored portion of creation-somehow different, somehow nearer to God. After all, human beings speak, fantasize, laugh, fall in love, are capable of great acts of self-sacrifice or of cruelty; human beings create great works of art and propound theoretical and mathematical models of phenomena. And human beings distinguish themselves by the sheer numbers of kinds of substances they use and become addicted to in the environment.

Gaining access to the unconscious through plant hallucinogen use reaffirms our original bond to the living planet.

Without a visionary relationship to psychedelic exopheromones that regulate our symbiotic relationship with the plant kingdom, we stand outside of an understanding of planetary purpose.

Returning to the balance of the planetary partnership style means trading the point of view of the egoistic dominator for the intuitional, feeling-toned understanding of the maternal matrix.

Terrence McKenna.

The last best hope for dissolving the steep walls of cultural inflexibility that appear to be channeling us toward true ruin is a renewed shamanism. By reestablishing channels of direct communication with the Other, the mind behind nature, through the use of hallucinogenic plants, we will obtain a new set of lenses to see our way in the world.

"History is full of people who out of fear, or ignorance, or lust for power have destroyed knowledge of immeasurable value which truly belongs to us all. We must not let it happen again." --- Carl Sagan

To date, the oldest suggestion of entheogen usage in the archaeological record comes from rock art in the Tassili Mountains of Algeria at a site called Tin-Tazarift, some of the Paleolithic carvings show dancers holding up a mushroom-like object in their hands. . The petroglyph, which features a mushroom-wielding shaman, dates between 7,000 and 3,500 B.C.
In numerous myths, the entheogen is believed to offer godlike powers, including immortality.

Visionary plants have long served indigenous peoples and their shamans as enhancers of perception, thinking, and healing. These plants can also be important guides to the reality of the natural world and how we can live harmoniously in it. these plants may help us access the profound intelligence in nature--the "mind of nature"--that we must learn to understand in order to survive our ecologically destructive way of life.

The concept of any piece of nature being illegal is absurd.
Banning substances not only doesn't prevent people using them, but in many cases creates even greater dangers through substance substitution. it is time for us to view entheogens not a threat but a tool for our broken society to rebuild itself.

"I believe that God left certain drugs growing naturally upon our planet to help speed up and facilitate our evolution. OK, not the most popular idea ever expressed. Either that or you're all real high and agreeing with me in the only way you can right now."
- Bill Hicks

Entheogenic plants and mushrooms should not be treated as a gateway to criminal activity.

The answer many of our more dogmatic religious institutions have been searching for over thousands of years can be found in Nature.

Ayahuasca is one of the most powerful and well-known natural entheogens known to Man. It is a hallucinogenic Amazonian plant concoction that has been used for centuries, possibly millennia by native Indian and more recently mestizo shamans across the upper Amazon throughout Peru, Columbia, Ecuador and Brazil. Over 40 other names for this sacred medicine are known including caapi, natema, mihi, and yage.

Ayahuasca is a medicine that works on every level; on the physical and non physical being, on our consciousness, on our emotions and on our spirit.

Ayahuasca is made from the Ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) and the leaf of the chacruna plant (Psychotria viridis). Both of these plants are collected from the jungle to create a potent mixture that offers the drinker access to the realm of spirits and an energetic world that exists around us all of which we are typically not able to perceive in daily life.

It is a mystery how the Amazonian shamans learnt to combine these two plants in order to prepare this profound medicine as individually taken; they are more or less inert. In chemical terms, the leafy chacruna contains the powerful psychoactive dimethyletryptamine (DMT) which is not orally active but is metabolized by the stomach enzyme monoamine oxidase (MAO). However, certain chemicals within the Ayahuasca vine contain MAO inhibitors in the form of harmine compounds which inhibit the action of the MAO in the medicine and result in a psychoactive compound that has an identical chemical makeup to the organic tryptamines in our brains. This then results in the mixture circulating through the bloodstream into the brain where it triggers powerful visionary experiences and enables us to access otherworldly realms.

DMT exists naturally in every human being and also throughout the plant and animal kingdoms. It occurs naturally in many mammals, marine animals, trees, grasses, flowers and shoots.

Strangely, even though DMT is one of the most intense psychedelics in existence physically it is one of the safest. Because the human body and mind already contain DMT in trace amounts the brain knows exactly how to utilize and metabolize this entheogen and it leaves the system in a matter of minutes. In fact one could say that since DMT is endogenous to the human nervous system it is the safest psychedelic known, far safer physically than even common alcohol and cigarettes.

Plants of the Gods -
Their Sacred, Healing and Hallucinogenic Powers

Chicago Tribune:11/2/95: "Although drugs and violent crime often are linked in America, the violent crime rate in the Netherlands is far lower than in the U.S., despite the Netherlands' more liberal drug policies. There were 1.9 homicides in Holland per 100,000 people in 1993. The U.S. rate was 9.5 homicides per 100,000."
So, if strategic success in the Drug War can be so easily demonstrated, why aren't we simply copying the successful model? Why can't rationality rule? Because the inquisitorial neurosis, upon which almost all our drug propaganda is based, is unconscious. Neurosis, emotional compulsion ruling conscious behavior, isn't susceptible to rationality.

The Drug War is a propaganda-fed neurotic repeat of the medieval Inquisition. Today's propaganda barrage is a technologically-updated duplicate of that propaganda.

The War on Drugs is unwinnable, and has not stopped the proliferation of drugs.
Violence from drug use and sale is almost wholly a result of prohibition.

Drugs used in medicine are routinely given what is called an LD-50. The LD-50 rating indicates at what dosage fifty percent of test animals receiving a drug will die as a result of drug induced toxicity. A number of researchers have attempted to determine marijuana's LD-50 rating in test animals, without success. Simply stated, researchers have been unable to give animals enough marijuana to induce death.

At present it is estimated that marijuana's LD-50 is around 1:20,000 or 1:40,000. In layman terms this means that in order to induce death a marijuana smoker would have to consume 20,000 to 40,000 times as much marijuana as is contained in one marijuana cigarette. NIDA-supplied marijuana cigarettes weigh approximately .9 grams. A smoker would theoretically have to consume nearly 1,500 pounds of marijuana within about fifteen minutes to induce a lethal response.
